Hi

I would add removing the engine sound pad and RS suspension bushes all round to the list.

Not that I'm ever going to drive my 993 in rain, sleet or snow, just my observation.
You are 100% correct with your theory. The rain does track back over the screen when the wipers are flipped, I wouldnt flip if the car was a daily and used in the rain, it may drive you mad! As mentioned, remove the intermittent relay and re-adjust the arms first to see if you like it

Fwiw; mine is ROW height and I pinned my tie rods: No bumbsteer, and I found my car now more stable at highway speeds.
And when I compare the costs between the mods...huge difference

Best regards,

Marco

I would substitute RS for ROW here. ROW height should not present a problem with uprights, I think.

Marco, could you describe _exactly_ what pinning did for the car?

Yes, your both right, I meant lower than ROW (or RS and just above)

Suspension change
RS engine mounts
Short shift kit
Wishbone bushes
RS uprights & track rods
Front protection bar
996 steering wheel
Front strut brace
Lightweight clutch & flywheel
Big ovals
Rear wiper relay change (1 sweep not 3)
Turbo S brake ducts
Front wiper arm flip

So copy and paste and add your mods!
My mods are in my signature but hands down the regear (albeit $$$$) was the most transformational. Combined with the RS clutch/LWF and Rennsport ECU...oh man.

the only thing I could detect immediately after pinning was that the steering wheel felt more "alive" and tracked the road more accurately.
after an hour of driving i could not tell the difference before vs after.

some might not like this mod if they have an aggressive alignment that is prone to "twitchiness or tramlining", since the NVH reducing elastomer is effectively defeated.

I have no regrets.

MY favorite mod = $124 HID headlights.

Hi Mike,

I will give it a try, for example: before the pinning when I experienced a (moderate) gusty crosswind while cruising on the highway at approx 100km/hr, sometimes it felt as if the car would track a different trail-a different equilibrium in geometry sort of speak.

The above described 'feeling' could also be generated when I voilently manouvered the wheel 10 degrees from left to right to left etc. during a straight ahead drive (on a empty highway at approx. 80 km/hr).

And in general; slightly more feedback can be felt, but I can imagine you could easely get used to this 'new' feeling.

(Some extra info: the front bushes on this car were replaced using OEM rubbers 4 years ago, and one tie rod replaced 5 years ago).

Hope this clarifies a bit

Best regards,

Marco
