It is all about what that money will buy next...hell I've had mine for a month and it would be hard decision if somebody offered $75k for it (not that somebody would). Probably would still keep it knowing that I'm getting all this fun for free.

From the research I've done over the past few weeks, that seems extremely high. That is what that same car would fetch with those options/miles in a Turbo

Check some of the sold listings in the prices thread. I'm pretty sure cars just as good as been selling around $60K. No way sport backs are worth an additional $15K.

It's about the money along with basic economic supply and demand!

NYC-

You are correct. A big rule in life is ....It's ALWAYS about the money. Just like in real estate it is location, location, location.

Anybody who says it's not about the money, please sell your car for 50% off it's current value to RL'ers looking for your type of car. So, any sellers? I doubt it.

If they are getting that expensive, soon I will be able to afford a GT3RS.

I have one, and even I think that price is too high. The market is not there for that car at that price quite yet.

That is a very sexy car, however.

Now they've marked it at 82k.

Awesome. I will now offer mine at $79k, not $73k as i did two days ago.

Just kidding. It's not for sale. Making a joke about the crazy C2S market.

There's two beautiful Midnight Blue TT's for sale right now with factory hardback's, aluminum look packages .. one here on RL has 58K miles for $62K and the other on PCA Classifieds has 53K miles for $57K. Anybody that would pay over $50K for just an 'S' with over 40K miles is an impulse buyer with no market knowledge IMHO .. when it comes to dealers and eBay there's 'asking' and 'selling' numbers and a huge gap in between.

Carrera Motors is a wonderful dealership and several of their employees are members of the local PCA and at least one of them is on Rennlist from time to time. I suspect they know better, but not everyone reads rennlist and its a beautiful car and there are a LOT of well to do people in the area and the dealer can afford to wait and well.....you know, JPP is right.

I agree with just about all sentiments in this discussion.

As someone who buys and sells about 5 cars a year and has sold 3 so far as of april i see it both ways. ..and I'm the guy who holds out for top-dollar when selling...and purchases for bottom when buying.

So, if someone with cash is ready to buy local, knows what they want AND the seller is willing to wait for that buyer, they usually get close to their asking price.

On the other hand, if it's a buyer willing to wait, be creative, search around the country, has the logistics in place, is comfortable buying anywhere and does a lot of research here and other places, they should be able to acquire the car they're searching for a much cheaper price than the first guy... It just takes a lot more time, patience and work!!

Moon priced when past the $50K -$55k threshold for my wallet. Sure,, the 993 chassis 911 has its merits, but.

My MY98 C2S coupe was ordered with the full leather option, HB heated sport seats, etc., etc., and basically build option for build option with that of the high spec 993tt model. Would I be a seller at $75K? My irrational shoulder shouts hell No,,, however reality say's sure and all week long at $75K

I asked them on the previous overpriced auction if the color was Metallic Black and they responded saying yes, it was their mistake and they would correct the information ... of course, they never did that and now it's re-listed as Slate Grey again. To be frank, this is obviously b.s. bait-and-switch dealer behavior ... why would these PCA/Rennlist members risk their business reputation to generate a sale based on false pretense? Not bright ... I wouldn't trust anything this seller told me now ..
