Default Aftermarket Steering Wheel/Airbag Disabling

I have read a bunch of threads about disabling the 993 airbags when installing an aftermarket SW with no airbag. This is what I want to do.

I am thinking of going the route of fitting the 928 part number bridge adapter that has been talked about in many threads.

I crawled around looking for the spot to plug in the adapter and did not find the control unit that others have said is located behind the carpeted panel on the passenger side of the center console.

Can some kind person share a photo of where the adapter plugs in? I am a little confused.

Thanks
Michael

Ok some terrible photos to point out what I am asking about. I am wondering if I am in the wrong area.

can you post one of threads that mentions the 928 part working?
I recall the 928 part working on a 964 but not the 993.

I might have gotten into some 964 threads without knowing it. I am just going to follow the instructions for making a DIY airbag resistor.

I am frustrated.

Michael, I believe that 928 part disables both airbags and that is not what you'd want right?

I also seem to remember that a 2.8 Ohm resistor does the trick to fake the steering wheel bag (a pair of standard 5.6 Ohm in parallel are fine).

That 928 part does not work... Here is the solution I came up with after removing both airbags and the controller.. Been working well for me for 4 years, ymmv...

Disabling both airbags is fine. The question is whether the adapter fits in my car somewhere.

Seems like people are saying it doesn't.

Thanks for the info about the airbag unit though. That would be my last choice I think.

Maybe you are looking for love here a little too hard. Since you know the car no longer has an airbag how about just removing the airbag light from the dash clock? Might affect the passenger airt bag , but then again what's good for the gander is probably good for the goose.
Just a thought.

I think we are all looking for love. I could be wrong.

It will obviously not disable Achtung! light (read the discussions in the URLs above).

Hmmm... I'll look again. I know I had a thread that had the location of where to put the bridge unit. Also, if the battery is connected at all when the airbag is disconnected and the resistor or bridge is not yet in position, then you will have to have the code cleared with a Bosch Hammer.

Also, if I remember correctly, I may have seen the airbag control module when I had the lower dash off. I'll check the PET tonight and see if I can get a rough location.
