Default Inner V Belt problem

Hello all,

I am in need of your collective wisdom. My alternator belt blew up the other day. I got all 3 belts as it sure seems prudent to change them all.

Problem is I can't get the fan belt (inner) on it's lower pulley. I can get it back onto the middle pulley, but there seems to be something down there that is keeping it from moving over.

I am hoping there are some tricks to this as I am stumped.

TIA.

try flipping it so that the teeth face toward the motor.

With NA cars it should be pretty easy.

I have a very long (18"?), flat blade screwdriver I bought to help push the belts around down there. Works like a champ. I have gotten better at it even without the screwdriver, and as Quad points out, its in the way that you wiggle it...

And make sure to have proper belt sizes. There is a lot of confusion out there for the 993.
