Not to hijack, but mine ended up in the ocean.

I recovered it, took out the battery, washed it with clean water, and used a hair dryer + day sitting. Works fine.

For now....rust and corrosion damage take time.

My daughter dropped her phone in the toilet, dried it, packed it in rice for a few days, used a hair dryer. 6 months later she wondered why it "suddenly" stopped working.

Water damage is rarely instant with electronics.
