Default Momo Steering Wheel Install Help

I am installing a Momo Prototipo wheel in my 993 and have been reading all the DIYs and such. I have almost all the bits I need but I have run into a barrier.

One RLer wrote that there is a gap left after all parts are installed. He mentioned getting some 964 RS steering column covers and using those to reduce the gap.

I went looking around at Pelican and Suncoast and other places and could not find a part number. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,
Michael

964-552-275-04-01C (Lower with Trip Computer)
964-552-275-05-01C (Lower with Trip Computer and Cruise Control)

I know. I was told the RS covers work on the 993. That is why I am asking.

The numbers I quoted are for a 993 RS (as well as other models without air bag)

Understood, but we (993 owners) utilize the 964 parts when converting to a non-airbag steering wheel. The 993RS uses these parts and if you convert to a 993RS steering wheel, they are on the list of items needed to make the conversion "Complete" or "Factory".

In the same breath, I'll tell you that I converted to the RS wheel in my 993 and did NOT buy those column covers. Do I think my interior would look "better" with the correct covers? Yes. Does it look "bad" with the orignal airbag covers? No.

What I was mentioning is the plastic pieces that surround the steering column close to the wheel. I don't think it has anything to do with air bags.

But it does.

This is German engineering. Every problem must have a specific solution even if solution is much bigger problem than the original problem ever was.

+1.

The column covers are different for cars that have an airbag vs. cars that do not. They are NOT needed for the swap. It is a cosmetic issue, nothing more.

Yeah I figured as much. I am doing the install this weekend without them and I will see if it looks ok.

I have an extra 964 column cover from my Momo install. Let me know if you are interested and I'll send you some pictures.
