Default 993 Dismantlers in Germany

Hi
I am travelling to Germany next month and looking at trying to pick up a couple of parts for my 993, from a German Dismantler (wrecker), during my stay,
that I have been unable to purchase from Australian dismantlers.
I was also not able to purchase these part new from Porsche.
So a dismantler is the only option.

I will be landing in Frankfurt and travelling, off course to Stuttgart to the Porsche factory for a tour. I will be driving a car around and between the various towns listed, Rust, Karsruch and Koblenz, these towns are not in the order of travel.

Can anyone suggest a couple of 993 dismantlers in the area of these towns?

Thanks,

It might be worth emailing Gert Carnewal about this? Belgium isn't far from Germany and I dare say he's well connected.

There is a dismantler in Karslruhe (30 mins from Stuttgart) called Freisinger. Then there is a very big porsche dismantler just across the german-polish border called www.teile.pl. Maybe not on your route but they can ship to any address.

What parts are you looking for, maybe I can point you in the right direction or inquire on your behalf.

Hi
OK, I am after a couple of bolts that hold the back brackets to the sunroof, I lost one when re doing the sunroof.
Porsche can not supply the part now. Although I could ask them during the factory tour..Joking
The 1997 and 1998 993's are different to the older cars, the 1997 993's have 3x M4 x 8 bolts with a self contained washer on each side of the sunroof brackets and I want the original part.
I have check with a number of overseas dismantlers but I think it is not worth their effort.
I have attached a photo of the bracket and bolt.

If I visited a dismantler while in Germany I think it would be no effort to get the part of a wrecked 993.
I know it is a lot of effort to go to to get a 10 cent bolt, I would, just prefer to get a bolt sent to me.

Thanks P-Track for the information.
Just a note- I think my wife will think I have lost it if we have to travel too far for just a bolt and she is probably right.

Thanks,

You are going for other reasons than the bolt, right? "please say yes, please say yes"

Was this bolt used anywhere else on the car?

Can you give me the number based on these partdiagram of the bolt you need? I have a large Porsche parts warehouse 200 meters from my house that stock a lot of NLA original parts.

It's almost impossible to get 993 parts from an ordinary dismantler in Germany. Try Freisinger although this company is the opposite of a dismantler. Another good source for 993 parts is www.grenzlandring-motors.de

Hi
RocketJohn- I am going on a European 6 week holiday, including a Porsche factory tour and just thought if there is a dismantler in Germany on our way around the traps I would drop in and purchase a bolt.
I wish I had the money to go to Europe to pick-up a 10 cent bolt, but than if I could do that I would probably have a holiday house in every country in Europe and some pretty fancy Porsche's.

Cemoto- No, but slightly similar bolt used on the car radio, I have ordered some from Porsche but not perfect

Budge 96- The bolt is a M4 x 8mm bolt with an encapsulated flat washer, black

P-Track- Thanks for the offer but that is the Pet Catalogue page for the 1996 and before 993's and has a different rear bracket than the post 1996 993's. The pre 96 models have a M4 x 6mm bolt with no encapsulated washer. I am after a M4 x 8mm black bolt with an encapsulated washer. I have already ordered the part from that Pet Catalogue page you have posted and it was wrong.
So Porsche are unable to give me the actual part number for that bolt, so the only option is visit a dismantler with a post 1996 993.

Thanks for all your help and I hope you all don't think I am crazy now, I am going on a holiday with my wife and just hoping to visit a dismantler during the touring around Germany in a car.
It would be great if a dismantler would just post a bolt, but just too small a sale for them.

Thanks,

So this isnt a windup?

Sorry, thought it was. May I ask why the recent supplied bolt and washer are no good? Is it visible? I only ask as from what I can see in the photo the surrounding area isnt exactly concurs condition so Im interested in why the exact bolt is required? Anyhow I hope you have a lovely holiday and manage to find a breaker who will take off this hard to find bolt for you!
