Looking at a stock 96 C2 Coupe for part time DD with some minor DE days. I was going to try to build an SC Lightweight, but the price of this particular car is almost to good to pass up. Don't worry, I'll do all the necessary PPI and Carfax stuff with my trusty PCar expert first.
But I'm wondering what initial mods I should be looking at first? I'm strictly about performance and handling primarily, but love the RS look...and this car won't be taking us out to dinner. What are the most productive changes from stock...which produce the most bang for the buck? Which are the best in your opinion, right off the bat?
I've never owned an air-cooled other than some 912's, and have had 2 996's and 2 997's. What do you guys suggest for a 993 neophyte?
Thanks!

Other than that...
Basic maintenance, where needed: oil change, gear oil, brake fluid flush, brake pads/rotors, plugs, cap/rotors (this can easily be several thousand...depending)
new tires, if needed
suspension: shocks, bushings (front A-arms), alignment

As mentioned, get all the basic maintenance in order first. If you still have the original suspension, this is what I would tackle next. First decide what you want to achieve....street or track car. Take some time to experience other 993's with different setups so you don't have to do this more than once like I did.
