I've been actually kind of thinking about the slant nose conversions. I'm not a big fan for several reasons. However, Porsche did make some factory slant noses. In the late 80s, I guess, way after SCs?

BTW, I _love_ the blue longhood of yours. Looks just right.

factory slope nose -M505 conversions started in the early 1980's IIRC, thru the Special Wishes program. I believe that 1986 or 7 was the first year it was a $25K option for a turbo.

I was always a fan of the look, loved the 84-89 Turbo and Turbo Look cars too. Just too dated for me since my eye has passed to the WB 993.

Here is one you may want to look at . The owner is a nice guy and he has this targa slant nose and a WB 993 .

slant nose cars are defaced 911's in my eyes. Takes away the bug eye character we all love.

and old targas are just rattle boxes IMHO.

All other issues aside, what Ken said on CIS. Many are starting to need TLC. Search the 911 forums for running issues.

The Motronics from '84 up do seem to be more robust, with most issues being traced to the odd vacuum leak here or there, and maybe a DME needing some soldering. There are CHT sensors and a couple of crank sensors that can go bad, but simple to trace and repair.

Actually, I'd prefer a 911 Targa, living in a nice climate. Nothing like open air motoring.

Thanks, Bobby, Guy and all the others! The reason I was interested in this particular SC is that it's a local car with a price tag that's about half of that Vancouver car, for example.

I live downtown Boston without garage. Do I really need a third car, let alone a 70s P-car that needs to be wrenched on? No. But if it's that good a value and that easy to pick up I was thinking... Alas, someone else is looking at it now and I assume would probably get it.

Absolutley agree. Looks horrid. Reminds me of a TR7...Very dated....
The TR7 is at least proportionally correct.

The bugeye look is timeless.
