I also thought it was hilarious that the Schild Wash 3oz metal container that came from p1speed was bent, given Das Schild's raison de'etre.

P1speed also threw in a microfiber cloth (looks to be a decent one) and a carry bag with the Das Schild logo on it.

I have the Das Schlid hood protectors on my car and like it. It just gives a slight bit of protection. The only caveat I will tell people is that if your hood shocks are not 110% the extra weight will exacerbate the issue, so probably one of these + new hood shocks for most.

Default Group Buy

I need to limit this GB to US, as shipping is not reasonable on this part(size).

Also, when you place your order charges will not post until conclusion of GB to determine final discount.

Thanks!

Will the liners ship when ordered or will it wait until 10 orders are completed?

Just picked one up, thanks for the discount. do the parts that make contact with the painted side have felt or some such to not scratch at the contact point? Or am I over thinking this? I tend to do that.

thanks,

rob

We do too...

We've made alterations over the years from foam in the open cells to neoprene strips at clip points and along bracing. The idea is to have limited contact with the actual hood and we believe the updated version does a better job of accomplishing that.

And a heads up for those really picky about their original hood label, if the shield makes contact with the flats of the hood, place four one-eight inch standoffs (one outside of each corner of the label) to prevent fretting damage.

Good idea regarding the label. I'll attach some felt tabs around it either on the hood or the liner. Yes I am that retentive, somehow I doubt I lack company given this group of owners. ;-)

Speaking of the label, it was mentioned in other threads that Das Schild will cover up the label so, if you want the information to show, just make a digital pic of it, then print it out on adhesive-backed label stock or spray the backside with adhesive. This would also provide a digital file in case, Heaven forbid, something bad were to happen to the hood.

Use a 3M automotive product that can handle the heat. Something like a shallow 3M Bumpon.
