This was the easiest DIY...I didn't even finish my beer. I had my battery disconnected four couple of hours. No airbags warning lights.

I read about more cost effective fixes (i.e. just sticking something in between), but I got the frame for 65 bux from porsche, since this should fix it for next 15-20 years.

Out of the four rubber rings, the top left was the most worn out and probably causing the horn to go off. Left bottom was showing a bit of wear, but the right ones are ok. I wonder if it has to do with heat from the window when car is parked in the sun.

Bruce 7. Great thread and wonderful informative pics. FYI, do not try this without the proper T30 Torx screwdriver or long Torx bit. I had the proper size Torx bit but it was too large and short to fit in the holes in the back of the steering wheel. Borrowed a T30 Torx screw driver from a friend, & used a chaanel loc for torque to remove bolts.

I found a T30 torx bit at NAPA, about 4" long w/ a 3/8th socket drive on the other end. It was about $10 and delievered to the store in one day. That allowed me to do the job without needing to screw around with the ignition switch and turning the steering wheel.
