Good write up. FastCarNut, who did your engine work in the Chicago area?

What a fun story! A below budget entry price makes those big mods all the easier to digest! Good buy!

Like real estate they aren't making them any more. I'd say good investment!

Nice car! Good luck with it.

Did you by any chance have the werke shop restore a golf yellow 3.0csl for you? If so, that was my car! Small world....

Outstanding! I dare say you'll get more "thumbs up" and "great-looking car" comments than your friend will in his new 991.

Awesome, did you do the lightweight flywheel, and V-Ram when you upgraded to an RS spec engine?

Thanks for all the kind words. The car is great and it is wonderful that you guys are getting it (unsurprisingly on the 993 section of this forum).

Danny Mueller from Napleton Porsche in Westmont. I always get great service there.

Yes, that was me. After much soul-searching and a lot of sleepless nights the car is now a dark metallic gray (an original color in 1973 for the CSL). Despite the color-change the car is still known as 'Mr Pee' in our household. I would gladly post a picture or two of the finished product but I can't because this is a Porsche-only board. Can I apply for some sort of dispensation somewhere?

I did not do the lightweight flywheel, mainly for driveability issues. The intake is still original but I might change it in the future.

Pictures of non-Porsches -- including "Mr. Pee" in his original form -- have been posted here. No dispensation necessary.

Don told me you were going to change the color, but as I recall he said it was going to be repainted a BMW 1980s metallic grey (I forget which). I almost didn't sell because of that. To me, a large part of Mr. Pee's allure was, well, that he looked like pee.

I wanted to take some pictures of the CSL side-by-side with the 993 but I haven't found the time yet.

I did have my 993 dyno-ed today. Peak horsepower is a smidge under 300, maximum torque almost 275. More is possible but I want to be able to use this car as a DD and therefore I don't want to diminish its driveability. Where do I stop?

yeah fix the dip at 5700 rpm and who knows where the peak will be. Do you still have 95 intake?

Your first pic put that grin on me.

Yes, I do. What should I replace it with?

That'd be cool! In the meantime, if you want to email me a pic for old time sake, please send to joshuaweinstein@ymail.com. Thanks.
