My thoughts: always use a synthetic oil. 15-50 is a good, year-around weight unless you are in freezing temps. Getting a bit more phosphorous and zinc for their anti-wear properties for our flat-tappet engines is a good idea. My recipe: I blend Mobil 1 15-50 and and Mobil V-twin 20-50 at about a 50% mix. The V-Twin has excellent anti-wear properties, and the 20-50 is close enough to the more ideal 15-50. IMHO.

There are some more knowledgeable than I, who say NOT to blend oils.
****, here goes another oil thread.
Seriously, aktung, a search would uncover a zillion threads where this is re-hashed over and over.

Show you right. But what would a Porsche forum be without repeatedly talking oil, tires and exhaust. So we will let the subject rest a while. Next up...... TIRES! I have had advise on my oil and exhaust So get ready for tire discussions and yes I know ,there is tons of info but you guys are so good and I like fresh opinions. For example, right now Bridgestone S-04 Pole Position looks good. Get your thoughts ready. Besides, I am old and have no job but this one so STOP TRYING TO FIRE ME.This will keep you sharp.
