I am about to drop the motor, due to a self distracting FAN assembly and burnt out engine harness, and as I was looking around the top of the motor with the fan and Alt removed. The left side banks look like they have some leaking or???

Not sure if yours is Varioram, but the left side could be this:

The varioram sucks up oil, then leaks it out through a flapper valve just above the fan, which then makes its way down through a hole in the cowling, to the top of the engine...

I'd degrease it and see how it looks in 6 months or a year.

Just read thru all of it... Looks like my issue, and mine is not that bad. Guess if it was an oil leak, it would not be covered in so much dust.

I have to remove the Vario anyway to change out the wiring harness, so I will take it apart and clean it as well. Hopefully its just the $5 O-ring...
