Default DME Relay (Did search, please read)

Is this DME the correct and updated part for a 1998 993 S?

Part #993.615.227.00 in online catalog. Has 911.618.154.00 printed on it.

An "original" 993 DME relay was actually a 944 part number.

Newest part number is 993-615-227-01. Sunset is $62.

Buy 2.

Replace the old one you have. Put the 2nd one in the passanger storage bin as your spare.

This will save you a $250 flat bed tow.

I believe the pins are flat on the correct DME relay.

I bought a spare a few weeks ago from Pelican Parts for $34 with shipping. Same p/n that LexVan noted 993-615-227-01

That looks like a 3.2 Carrera relay.

^^^I think you are right. $25 from Automotion/Performance Products. Their stuff seems to be inferior to other vendors, and no one there knows the products beyond what they read to you off the computer screen.

I'm not sure the if the picture is just any old DME relay that is used for illustration purposes and they actually have the one that is correct for the 993, or if the pictured item is their only DME relay.

Re-solder the original relay that you have and you'll never need the spare that you carry.

That is indeed a 3.2 DME relay, a Genuine Porsche one at that. Im 99% sure for $25 you would get a Uro relay as the Genuine Porsche ones are about $90. Im afraid that site does have some misleading photos
