Default Way to bypass Drive Block?

Hi Folks,
Is there a way to bypass drive block system. I've got a 1997 Carrera US-spec which has one.

TIA

How about this. Does anyone think the drive block has actually stopped the car being stolen.

Lock unlock lock unlock arrrggghhhhhhh it is pretty goofy.

My 993 is stock with the ignition disable feature. Why remove this feature? I do not know why it is a problem. Several years ago I added a latch relay so when the engine is running the doors lock 10 seconds later. With this set-up other than pressing the key fob button to get in the car there is no need to touch any switches, just turn the ignition key. If programming a fob or deactivating the ignition kill is an issue see my "key fob programming made easy" posting.

It's certainly confounded people who don't know to press the button on the fob. I've never really understood the hatred for it; pressing the button is just one of the many "pre-flight" procedures that I go through before I drive the car.

Its incredibly annoying if you leave your car unlocked most of the time.

Why not put a note near the key that says "Press fob button!"? I have a label that reminds me (and my mechanic's workers) to not push in the clutch when starting. Couldn't be easier.

I am with Andy and Mark. I look at this as a auto arming theft prevention.
If a valet or other person has a copy of my key, they will not be able to get in my car, start it and leave. Even if I leave it unlocked in my garage or driveway.
If you get in the frame of mind it is an always on theft prevention, and you always have to press the fob, it is a little more normal. Won't stop a tow truck, though!

Reason? I only have one key and key fob. I am just worried that me and my car reside in the Philippines and if something unfortunate happen to the key fob, my car will be dead.

Thanks Steve! I will give you a call one of these days.

Question

Superformance.
An additional fob and key blank can be ordered from most dealers.
