What would you pay - 96 C2, high miles?

I remember seeing the thread for this supposed car and everyone was calling it "beat up" but to me it didn't seem so that much. When I think of a beat up car I think of a POS basically, so either my standards are off or people here have higher standards.
My car has 177k miles and it has road chips on the front, 1-2 very small paintless dings and the paint is slightly faded on the hood. I have basically all the records from day one and a total of $30,000 has been spent on the car in the past 15 years which is about average. Is that a beat up car? I don't know but honestly I don't care because I drive it to have fun, not looking for a garage queen. My car has been mechanically taken care of but the mileage will take its toll on the outside no matter what you do.
I paid 20k for mine and MAYBE if I had waited longer I could have picked one up for less but then you start going crazy always searching the ads, etc. I also bought my car knowing that one day I will do a full engine and transmission rebuild, etc. so take that into consideration.
Just wanted to give you my perspective since I always notice a bit of a bias against high-mileage 993s around here. I've literally seen a 993 go for under 20k once (excludes cabs + tips) and that car sold in literally 1-2 days. It had 215k miles. I saw the ad after I had bought mine and I wanted to buy his too for 17k but it had sold

If all the big stuff has been refreshed recently:
Clutch,
Struts,
Rotors & pads,
Steering rack,
Valve lifter cartridges
Alternator
and all the little plastic stuff has been attended to along the way,
And the body has reasonably nice paint with no substandard body work evident I would pay for $15K to $18K. Keep in mind a nice basic 993 coupe with 80K and all the stuff done can be had in the mid 20K range.
Keep in mind most major service items happen in the 80K to 100K odometer range. The car you are looking at already is 50K miles along the way to this milestone for the 2nd time.

Can't understand why most are knocking this car and valuing it so low.
No carfax history 2 owner manual c2, nice colour combo, varioram. No rear wiper, no basket handle, non molested and no added distasteful mods. Last owner since 2001. Worth the asking price if not more.

I love all these numbers getting thrown out under $20K, but the only example anyone can come up with is from 7 years ago....
If this car has had all the needed preventative maintenance done, a paintless dent guy is cheap.

I agree. I saw some sub-$20K 993s during my search last Fall and they were rough. Badly faded paint, lots of stone chips, original 120+K engines, mysterious electrical gremlins, old tires, salvage titles, and no records are the norm for that price range. I would revise my original estimate based on having now seen the interior which isn't my cup of tea but it still looks like a decent car.

Granted, we're talking two years ago, but I had some interest from a couple of regulars here who inquired off of me selling the RSA. One guy in particular (NOT naming names) was pretty dismissive when I had a hard offer @$30K when $32K would have done the deal.

Two owner with those being highway miles. Rough around the edges with a bad spot of rust on the cowl. Car ran great. Drove it from Detroit to Nashville without hesitation. I continued to drive it till I was ready to fix it up. Good interior,and was a good driving car. I paid 16K. I doubt I could do that again.

This thread is hilarious. People just throwing out random numbers for cars and now tires.
You're all wrong. That car shouldn't have an asking price over $9k, and should sell around $7.5k. Who the heck wants a beat up 993? Good tires should only cost you about $300-400 depending on brand and size.
