Question Double-sided tape for RUF badge needed.

The rear RUF badge was starting to come loose, so rather than risk losing it, I removed it from the car. The rear of the badge is a "channel" that the original tape sat in and protruded enough to make good contact with the car. I got some Scotch exterior dbl-sided adhesive, but its not thick enough to protrude properly. 2 layers might work, but thought I'd see if anyone else has a better solution.

BTW, the original tape exactly matched all the contours of the badge. My solution wont be nearly so elegant, consisting of straight cuts of tape.

Thanks for any ideas for a better solution.

Steve, which badge do you have? Did you make a Turbo R badge? Or do you have a RUF badge back there.

My understanding is that the Turbo Rs came with a flat sticker (not raised) that says Turbo R. I got one from the Dallas guys.

I'm not sure if you can see mine in this pic. Show us what you have!

BTW Steve ... I had the same problem with my badging and found some 3M tape at my local O'Reilly parts store that's made especially for sticking badges on vehicles. It worked for the factory Speedster badge and it's also got a raceway on the back for the tape to 'nest' in .. the S is flat, so I went with a thinner double sided tape I found at Staples. Here's some 3M examples .. of course, it ain't cheap but it's good stuff. http://www.amazon.com/3M-Scotch-0637.../dp/B002MOAWL4
I was looking for a wide strip of it .. wide enough so I could stick the badge on one side and then use a razor knife to cut it out, all in one swell foop, but I compromised with this stuff and just stuck about 3 rows across the entire badge on the back and then flipped it over and cut the extra off .. worked pretty well.

Thanks to all that responded. I went to O'reilly's and found that "molding tape", and it is indeed thick enough to make contact with the car body, but not so thick as to hold the emblem away. I stuck it on the car, didn't like the first attempt, and pulled it off and repositioned it. It took some effort to get it off, so I think this project is done. Thanks all.
