It is advertised as 5.7 l/100km combined, but the one time I really drove it, about 90 km city, 100 km highway (around 160 an hr though) i averaged about 10l/100km. Looking at the computer avg, it says around 7.5 for mostly city driving.
I'm going with an x3 m sport. I'm just trying to negotiate the price of the build with the dealer. Not many used ones out there so I'm doing what I said I would not, order a new one. But I think the 35i is that good.
I'm a big BMW fan and love my 335xi, but I truly hate the X styling at a primal level so went with the Evoque as the utility vehicle. The turbo 4 is decent enough and, IMO, suitable to the task. As long as you're not expecting a rocket-ship SUV it's fine.
Btw... "LR guys" hate the evoque the way "Porsche guys" hate the 996. I collect the "hated models"... It's my theme... Lol
We have an Evoque, it has been absolutely perfect. Not a single problem. I'm very impressed with the build quality, the switchgear, the interfaces (EVERY NAV system can be improved, even Garmin), the engine is fantastic for torque and fuel mileage, my wife and I have no attraction to anything BMW, she loves the Evoque's ride and handling, she doesn't care that the BMW is the 'drivers choice' (friends down the street have a 135i cabrio and X5 and neither impress her at all, she says the seats are hard and umcomfortable, she is not a BMW fan). She LOVES her car, the interior, the amenities, the styling (silver is the best color) and said she could not have picked a more perfect car for her. I got it and surprised her as a wedding gift. We have had the car up and down my cousin's private mountain dirt road (~ 40 degree, tight, crazy switchbacks) and the car handled it like a mountain goat. We've also been up and down the friends' (BMW people) mountain resort road (they are at the top of a mountain) and car just begs for more. To and from the beach in hot summer it was a smooth dream, in the winter the heated seats are fantastic and have 3 settings. I couldn't say anything better about the car, and the local dealer's service and attitude.
Rajan Tata is the best thing that ever happened to Rover and Jaguar.
i have an evoque and extremely happy with it. the styling both exterior and interior is arguably the best in class. haven't had any issue with it. it's comfortable and there's decent space. but most importantly, it's a pleasure to drive. just the right amount of sportiness that it doesn't make for a tiring DD. the engine is tiny but performs well for what it is and gets good gas mileage. you don't buy these cars to race and go fast. so long as it gets 80-100mph easily, why you need more power?
my vote is the evoque. it will make you feel more special.
