I'm been off Rennlist for a while. Didn't even know that you were looking for one. Are you or did you sell your Guards Red 993 NB?

Lunch is on me the next time you're able to make it out to the Rennlist Meet and Drive! Can't wait to compare notes on cars. If you parked next to mine, people would flock to yours and drool all over it due to that beautiful rear wing.

Someone told me recently that 993's don't really need a wing for high speed driving on the road or the track, and that they're truly for cosmetic purposes (which I get - they look wicked). Is this true?

^^^No. Not true. They are functional spoilers and wings and need to be used together properly for high speed stability. Not sure about rocker panels.

Agreed Jim. On this particular rear wing, at the very lateral aspects, are openings that directs air into the engine bay in addition to the vent at the top. Must be good for another 10 hp

Steve- how is the HID conversion holding up buddy? We need to get together again soon. My NB is going to a good friend. There are a few new faces in town interested in a meet.

At what speed does having the wing become vitally important on a 993? Thanks in advance for this info.

My HID's have been great! No problems whatsoever. Sometimes I wish I went for the even brighter version but am fine with what I have. I use my car as a daily driver which is so much fun. I rarely drive my BMW unless salt is on the road, I'm hauling stuff to the airport or taking friends out for the night.

Can't wait to meet the new faces our next meet. Let me know which weekend you want to do it and we can meet at Bagel City in Rockville again (or somewhere else) for a meet up and end up at a fun, delicious restaurant after a 50-60 minute drive. Normally we wait till Spring so snow/sleet isn't an option. Then there's today, almost 60 degrees in January!
