quick update for those interested. We are now done with the interior and starting on the long crazy polishing process. I am about 3 hours into a 150+ hour job but the results are amazing. See some pics below of the gut job and finished product. Also a link to airforums for those wanting more details...

Yowza! Cool acquisition and project. I dig Airstreams. It should be a looker when you are all done.

The interior looks great. Nice grain on the flooring! Just keep out of the desert with that mirror finish.

A bit of an update for those that are interested. I finished polishing the exterior and have been having a blast taking it all over the south as well as using it for my work. Of course its now time to start polishing it again... which i am in denial about since it took me well over 70 hours the first time :roll eyes:

Once its done again Ill be adding the awning, adding a few interior items, new aluminum gas tanks and it will finally be done.

Cool project! What are you going to tow it with? Also are these things typically more or less expensive than a normal trailer? I've always wondered that.

Great airstream I too am a fan and I'm hoping one of these days to come across a good deal on an older model.
