Well, hello there again old friend!
Well it's been 4 long months since I was last back in my home town of Perth, Western Australia (I work overseas in Singapore most of the year but typically make two to three trips a year back to Perth to visit the folks and have some good R&R).
The first thing I always do on the way back from the airport is pick up my trusty 993 from storage then drive over to my folks place (car has been in my custodianship for close to 10 years now.... and I still love it... its the only car in my group of cars that I know I will never sell).
Then the daily ritual of 6am drives starts, every single morning without fail after my run. Its as important as brushing my teeth... or maybe more important . It's amazing, but the smell that I get on first getting into the 993 is always one of the most welcoming of smells, something that is so familiar and something that brings a smile to my face every single time I open the car up and get into it.
As usual, upon reconnecting the car to the battery, it started immediately without the hint of a hesitation and has been running like clockwork over the last week. One more week of driving left, then I head back to Singapore for 4 weeks before making a 2 week trip back to Perth for a bit more driving before I finally head back to Singapore.
You guys who get to drive your 993's every day.... please feel for us poor sods that only get to drive our babies 6 to 7 weeks a year.... you are the luckiest guys and gals alive...
And to end this post, some gratuitous shots of my old dame....
Take care to all and a great year of driving to all rennlisters!!

I can't get enough of this car.... Nothing else will ever be able to replace it. It's my addiction... Nearly 10 years on and I'm still smiling....

Guys,
Thanks very much for the comments. Yes, there may be faster cars out there, better handling hatches, cars with better air con, cars that make others go ooooh and ahhhh more than this baby, but this car TICKS ALL THE RIGHT BOXES.
Its the perfect companion to get me from point A to B with a big grin on my face.... and I seriously think I'm still addicted to THAT SMELL, even 10 years on.... familiarity does not breed contempt..... in this case

gorgeous 993, your pics are making me think Albert Park GP is just a few weeks away ! Bring on the new season, still hoping Mark can get the better of Seb before Marko kicks him to the curb
