I don't think my car was ever in a calendar, but it is in my avatar.

My mistake; January is a targa, yours is a coupe.

Still wish you all the best

Yes .. sorry to hear this. I was going to go on a New years morning drive in NorCal but the 'frost was on the pumpkin' at 9a.m. still and I thought better of it. I think it's worse here because you really can't see it (black ice) on the road until your in trouble and the outside sunny/bright mornings leads you to believe the conditions are better than they really are. Where I live/drive, there are lots of stretches of road where there are old lines of Eucalyptus trees along the roads planted years ago for windbreaks .. and they cast morning shadows across the roadway keeping them damp until freezing in the early morning ... bad, bad, bad trick.

Glad you made it out OK, you can thank your lucky stars. I second the idea of buying the car back from the insurance co. And thanks for testing out those old air bags - good to know. Also, thanks for teaching us a valuable lesson re Bay Area roads. I will be more careful. Good luck with everything.

An amazing sense of humor for someone in your situation. Kudos to you and I hope all gets sorted with the insurers. Most important is that you are ok.

No response yet. All I know is that the car has been taken to a salvage/auction yard. Fun.
