Lol at the Harbor Freight hand pump. Last time I was there, I saw that sitting on the shelf and I said "I have no idea why, but I'm buying this thing." I've used it like 3 times since! And now i have a 4th task for it. 
And pick up their $15 6-inch digital micrometer while you're at it; best tool I own.

Personally, I like the Sta Lube pumps for gear oil. They screw into the fluid bottle, and have a retainer to keep the other hose in the fill hole.
Most auto parts stores have them, as does HF:
