Default 993 Build Codes

I'm a new member of Rennlist and am looking for some help in deciphering the codes for my 993 TT. It is a ROW car, purchased in Germany when I lived in Europe in 99. I drove it there for 3 years and then decided to bring it back and have it federalized. I have been searching on Rennlist and elsewhere to understand what the codes mean. I have many figured out, but some remain a mystery. Any help would be appreciated. The attachment is what I copied off the sticker under the hood.

Underneath the SN there is a model number (993) and then 770. What does the 770 mean?

The Motor No. says M6460-BIT and then there is the designation G6451-20. I understand the M6460, but cannot find out what the BIT and G6451-20 signify.

And finally under the option list, the first option is C00. I can't find that one. Then there are a number of options that I easily found. But the last four, 09981, 09991, 19691 and 19892 I cannot seem to find.

I'll be grateful for any help.

Bill

Hi Bill,

770 denotes the TT.

G6451 denotes manual transmission for TT. Not sure on the -20.

Thanks for the help. The option decoder (in Michael's post) shows that 09991 is Mfg from the Exclusive Program, and my car has that logo on the glove box. Still looking for the other 5 digit option codes.

911 Pervy,

It appears that virtually all these options are on my car. Some of these were easy to figure out, but how did you figure out the ones that were not obvious? For example M220, 224, 288, 601,605, and 615. My car also has carbon fiber trim on the interior. I don't see that showing up anywhere or is that part of the Porsche Exclusive treatment that it got?

Look for a (pdf) copy of the Porsche Parts Catalog, the back 2 sections of the 993 section are called "MSP pages" and "V section". MSP has most of the option codes and the V section has engine/transmission info.

For a while the full parts catalog was available on Porsche USA web site, don't know if it's still available or not but it is still available as a DVD through the Porsche parts system.

Found it: http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessori...artscatalogue/

If you want to buy the whole DVD:
Furthermore, Porsche AG additionally offers the PDF Genuine Parts Catalogue on DVD. The catalogue comprises all models including the respective Tequipment and literature catalogues and is available at your Porsche Partner under part number: 000 043 400 05 for a price of
9.00 USD
I bought the DVD long before the pdf was available (free) on the web site, I see no reason to pay for it now.

If you can connect to Porsche AG and give them a VIN you can get the info I posted

This is not free, I pay for it

The PET Bill talks of is great but well out of date on CD and PDF, The latest update is 307, the versions on the et are probably 280 ish

Porsche options decoder: http://www.kindel.com/porsche/options/options.asp Knock yourself out with all the option codes

What's on Bill's car is fairly standard on any US-bound TT, but, seemingly, optional in Germany (A/C, windshield top tint, power windows, etc). That's part of the reason the list is long.

-20 is probably for G50/20 transmission.
