Default DO WANT!!

Might even ignore who the seller is.... maybe

Not sure about this statement though... "DEALER WITH ROCK SOLID PRINCIPLES"... yeah, right

Why is this car so cheap? Another 904 was sold at RM Auctions earlier this year with an estimate on the scary side of $2million

Wow. They don't make it very obvious that it's a reproduction.

Well that explains everything. Pretty shady not to make that fact clearer.

True. It would be nice to know exactly who built it. Perhaps its a one off.

The add says it is a reproduction, and it is "2 of 25"

I think I should buy this Porsche 904 GTS. Then require a "Porsche 904 GTS" be delivered to me.

What a sham.....NEVER "reproduction car" mentioned. (Emerald, saying " HAD BEEN REPRODUCED" in only 1 place is NOT saying "this is a reproduction car") And the quote about the titling is nearly criminal. Reported to eBay as misleading/fraudulent listing. I'm sure Victory will just say "the title says"...
.... YOU ARE VIEWING A FINE PREVIOUSLY OWNED PORSCHE 904 FROM OUR VAST INVENTORY....

THE PORSCHE 904 GTS WAS AN OUTSTANDING RACECAR ORINGALLY PRODUCED FROM 1964-1965. DESCRIBED AS A SPECIALIST RACING CAR, THIS PHENOMENAL MID-ENGINE COUPE HAD BEEN REPRODUCED IN A "25 ONLY" LIMITED PRODUCTION. THE 1964 PORSCHE 904 (GTS) COUPE IS NUMBER 2 OF 25 AND IS READY FOR THE STREET, TRACK AND EXPORT. IT IS FINISHED IN SILVER WITH BLUE CLOTH INTERIOR AND HAS ONLY 103 ACTUAL MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THE ULTRA LIGHT-WEIGHT 904 HAS PLEXI SIDE AND REAR WINDOWS, ELECTRIC HEATED DEFROSTER ONLY AND NARDI WOOD STEERING WHEEL INSIDE. THE 1974 2.9L 911 ENGINE HAS BEEN CUSTOMIZED WITH 44mm GERMAN WEBER CARBURETORS THAT HAVE BEEN BORED TO 48mm. IT PRODUCES 300HP WITH A REV LIMIT OF 8500 RPM. THE FRONT OIL COOLER HAS A THERMAL REGULATOR, WHICH KEEPS THE MOTOR RUNNING VERY COOL. THERE IS A MECHINICALLY ADVANCED DISTRIBUTOR, HYDRAULIC CLUTCH, MODIFIED 911 FRONT ENGINE SUSPENSION, BILSTIEN COIL OVER SHOCKS, 4-WHEEL DISC BRAKES AND 16" WHEELS AND TIRES. OF THE 10 ALREADY PRODUCED, 90% ARE KNOWN TO BE IN EUROPE. THE TITLE READS AS A 1964 PORSCHE 904 GTS WHICH MAKES FOR AN EXTREMELY RARE OPPORTUNITY.
The guy is a "Porsche expert" and can't spell Bilstein.

How the F*&K do you title a car as a 1964 Porsche 904 in AZ when its NOT?!?!?!?!?

Not that I would ever buy a car there but the ads says "THIS PHENOMENAL MID-ENGINE COUPE HAD BEEN REPRODUCED IN A "25 ONLY" LIMITED PRODUCTION" which I interpret as a reproduction of run of 25.

As to the year of manufacture on the title a lot of states (all?) allow reproduction vehicles to be registered as whatever model year the replica represents...this is how the builder gets around safety, smog etc.

Fail.

It's a really nice reproduction 904, but a shame it's being sold by such a turd.

I've personally met with Rob once, and he is a pretty cool guy even though he didn't end up buying my 993 (I really need 22k, can't sell it for less LOL). But anyway, I'm a part-time car dealer so what do i know
I kind of agree, if the car is a repro, so it should say something like Replica. BUT, eBay standards will probably accept the language used in the listing. As with all online purchases, due diligence is required. So forums such as rennlist are really useful. ... I guess we've determined it's a repro or else it would be worth TONS more... nice find though!

Not really alot of 904 replicas out there...what a cool car this would be to take to the local car show! Victory is in the business of selling cars, that about sums it up.

Smoke and mirrors! The problem is burying the information. The 911 engine is in there, reproduction was, albeit confusing the way it was worded. And the picture of the VIN sticker obviously not a 904. Probably be a nice replica at a fair price if it wasn't this guy selling it in this way.
