When i was stranded in thunderhill one time at a track day, the sacramento p-car stealer wanted to charge me over $300 for a 993 toolkit.

i just needed the 12 point tool to change my alternator ( which only costs ~25)..

I put together a recommended toolkit page: http://www.993faq.com/index.php/2002...d-993-toolkit/ It's item 21

Whatever kit you consider go to Harbor Freight to buy it as their quality on tool sets is good and their pricing is about 20% to 25% of any other retailer.

I've seen from the mid $100 to upper $700 range on ebay.

Besides the tool kit, you will need other items that are needed for roadside repairs. This is what I carry in a small plastic container.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I am looking for the factory kit, trying to piece in what's missing on my current tool kit (which is a lot). I've seen the one for $799 on Ebay and thought that was a little crazy but haven't seen many other complete kits for comparison. Thankfully I have the Clewett system so don't need 3/4 of the other tools for a belt change.

I was quoted around $430 from Sunset Imports not too long ago. Don't recall if that included the bag or not. Your price might actually be even better as you're out of state.

The range on the factory tool kit is so wide. I picked up one at a local Porsche swap meet for $25; complete and never used. Yet, they regularly sell on ebay for more than $300.

The parts person I worked with (Andraya) said they were still available but gave me the impression they probably wouldn't be for much longer.

If you ever want to enter your car in Concours events anytime in the future you will want a complete tool set, jack, and compressor.

These are still available new from Porsche. The price check I received was $380 USD a few months ago.

Pretty much everything. I have the lug socket, tow hook and sunroof crank. Everything else is missing.
