That's right, Navy blue. It looks great with the Polar Silver paint in the bright sunlight (the Polar Silver has a light blue hue in bright sunlight).

Ha ha. I just checked out your '95 993. Speed Yellow, and it's apparently bone stock with an undercarriage so clean you can store your dinner there! Nice work!
I was reading your DME relay thread. I'm not sure mine's faulty--but am wondering how long most 993s take for the engine to fire. Ours takes a few seconds at cold-engine start up. This seems like an eternity when I'm used to the engine firing almost immediately.
I read about the windshield creaking in these cars. That happened during our test drive, and the service manager mentioned applying "Seal Glide" on the windshield seals to quiet them down. I may just live with it, until the weather warms up.
One other oddity is the door locking programming. If you open and close the driver door, then open and close the passenger door, the central locking system activates, and locks both doors. You're out of luck if you want to keep the doors unlocked--like when you're loading/unloading stuff from the car.
I'm sure there will be other 993 eccentricities that will appear as my ownership experience progresses LOL. I had a similar experience with oddities in my '93 Mazda Rx7 type FD33 LOL.

Is the Drive Block system the odd way the doors lock like they do?
I'm not sure how I'd tell when mine was built. The last 11 digits of the VIN are XXXXXX993SS320628?

The car was lightly optioned:
Code Option Description
437 Comfort seat left
438 Comfort seat right
454 Automatic speed control
650 Sunroof
C02 Equipped with catalytic converter
Anyone know what options 694 and 718 are?

Congrats on a beauty! Polar Silver/Blue is class all the way. Please post more pics when you get a chance as well as a detailed list of the upgrades done (what suspension, exhaust etc.).

BTW, beautiful car, and I like the wheels too. My summer tires are on FM-10s, (thanks to Nathan!) and I love them. I find that maintenance of them isn't too bad if you don't let dirt get too built up and clean them regularly. I've found that Griot's Heavy Duty wheel cleaner does a good job. It changes color as it works on cleaning the iron brake dust out. I've also used Sonnax wheel cleaner, which works similarly but costs a bit more.

I don't really know. It was listed in my receipts with the modifications done when the sport exhaust was added? The air box looks different. It has the shiny trim ring around the air box opening like the motor sound optioned cars had? Being an OBDI, there might have been some air-fuel mapping done. This 993 feels as strong as a 2003 996 I test drove just 2 days before I test drove and bought our 993 (on "Black Friday"). I had 6-ft+ tall, 200-lb+ passengers during both test drives.

Your manufactured date is on a sticker in the driver's door jam area. Early 993s were built in '94. Mine was a late built, June 95. I think July 95 marked the beginning of MY96 cars.
