The iPad mini is not going to fit! You would be better off starting from scratch and making your own console.
The image below is the original insert for the console.

I dew around this and took some measurements for you. Hope it helps.

Maybe hold it at the angle you can see it from the driving position. It looks like it is pointing down at the moment.
I just want to see how much of the switches it covers.
Also maybe get a shot of all three iPads along the dash just for fun

Do you still want me to take a pic of my ipod mini in my 993? Where exactly do you want it? I can do it now if what was posted earlier isnt sufficient.

Wow - thanks to all of you for all of this help. It never ceases to amaze me how great the members of this forum can be.
Baj - I think you're right...starting from scratch will be simpler.
CarreraX - If you could hold the iPad Mini horizontally beneath the lower dash at the same angle as the two rows of buttons in the center console, that would be great. I want to determine whether the iPad could be placed there...I assume it might cover the upper row of buttons in the center console.
Thanks again guys!!

Is this what you are looking for? The placement isnt really very good. It is in the way of your leg. Im not sure there is a place where it will work very well. Let me know if you want more pics.

Sorry I'm late getting back to this.
Yeah, there might not be a good fit for it. That's still not quite the position I was thinking of, though. I'm wondering if it would fit if it were at the same angle as the console buttons (if the back of the iPad was either flush with the upper row of buttons (the hazard light button, lock button, and ! button) or angled slightly upward from it).
I think I'm grasping at straws here...
