Guys:

I am interested in knowing the real weight of the 993 shell.

I was guessing that this question had been asked before but I have run a few searches using “shell weight”, “chassis weight”, etc. and could not find any actual answer so:

Has any body actually weighted a 993 bare shell?

I have an empty 96nb chassis in the garage that I can pick up easily from both sides. No scales but if I where to guess I would say 300 pounds.


By the way, if that is a 993 track car parked in your bedroom; this may be the first time I have ever felt benign envy in my life.

No, unfortunately it is not my bedroom, it is just a picture I took from a japanese car magazine some years ago.
Nice isn’t it? Actually when I saw that picture I asked to my back then girlfriend what she thought about having a bedroom like that and she replied that she did not want to sleep in the garage

Unfortunately I don't have access to scales to weigh it.
All I can offer at this time is a ballpark, hopefully someone has the exact number.
