my guess is that the gutters behind the B-pillar will create drag . . .

We're gonna have to get us a wind tunnel and a grinder to settle this!

You have a deal... all except for the wind tunnel and the car. All the rest sounds good. What sort of beer are you bringing?

Ok, since you are not providing wind tunnels or cars i will not be bringing the grinder, that will leave more room for beer . . .

I´m into the pale stuff

(aarrow, I am really sorry for taking the thread off the track :/ )

I think you can skip the grinder also. Just bring the beer. Take a peek at this Nascar racer with "aerodynamic fences" on the roof. Not quite rain gutters... but you get my point.

I have always liked the shaved look of the RUF 993´s but I would not delete the rain gutters unless I was rebuilding damaged car.

Yes, I love that clean look also. It is a HUGE job, since the roof is "folded" into the sides in the gutters. You can't just grind them off... you grind a couple of inches and then weld. Rinse and repeat. And repeat. Much of the interior must be removed. So, that's the reason I like to think that my gutters serve a functional purpose (since Rufus is rarely driven in the rain). Again... no disabusing me of my fantasies.

Not to diminish Akerlie's post, but you two had a really funny riff going.

The nascar fences are there to keep the car from flipping over when it gets sideways at 150+ mph. Those and the air flaps stopped many of the blow overs.. I don't think they are there to help top speeds.

OK. That's fine. That's why I love my rain gutters. See? Functional.
