Default Best suspension set up for street

Ok I since I'm a newbie with the 993 I'm looking for the best suspension set up for mainly street. I'm hoping maybe 1 or 2 track per year if that. I like it to handle as close as I can to my gt3...I know wishful thinking but close. My ride 96 c4s.
Thanks

I also have a C4S, and I've been pretty happy with my PSS-10s/TRG sway bars set-up...great for street and I'd imagine pretty good for the occasional track day as well.

Pss10 or KW V3's I think give the best combination of ride for the street (when you soften the shocks) and track ability.

Personally I would go for the KW's, I have KW Club sports with linear rate springs and even on the street the car is pretty good. The Kw V3's have variable rate springs the ride is much nicer.

Hi Doc,

You'll get a lot of opinions, so I'll offer mine, too.

I think the PSS-10 package cannot be beaten for their quality, adjustability of ride height & ride/handling.

Add a pair of adjustable swaybars to fine-tune the balance of the car to your skills and preferences and you're done.

Doc Porsche, I have bilstien HD with H&R springs installed on my C4S. I am very happy with the ride and handling quality for my needs. Where are you located in So Cal? I am located in Huntington Beach if you would like to take a ride in my car to feel the ride and handling quality for yourself. If you would want too, send me a PM so we can set up. a time.......

One of the best components of the Ruf Turbo R package is the Ruf suspension. Mine is pretty old and is based on the PSS-9 system with re-valved shocks and different springs. It also includes an adjustable rear sway bar. It is FAR superior to the PSS-9 system I had on my other 993TT. Perhaps they now use the PSS-10 system. In any event, it may be worth a call to Ruf USA to get details.

I am pretty sure all KWs come with linear springs, I have V1s on my 964 and had V3s on my TT, both setups are linear springs combined with a light helper spring.

KW does a great job with setting up their suspension to be compliant, for a street car they are a perfect balance.

My 97 C2 came to me with stock US-spec ride height. The Koni inserts were in need of rebuilding or replacing, so I did some research and talked to several knowledgeable friends and decided to replace them with PSS10s and go to a more "sporty" ride height. After I installed the shocks/struts, I had Pat Williams Racing set the height and corner balance the car for me. I am still experimenting with the settings, but I can tell you it was worth every penny. It feels like a different car. You won't regret going with PSS10s.

after springs (new shocks will always outperform old and feel amazingly different) the next step is stiffer sway bars to keep the car more planted and rotate different.. you can introduce twitchier handling if you go too extreme. Im still deciding what to go with.. RS? H&R (might be too aggressive), TRG?

Just to mix it up, I swapped out my very tired H&R spring and Bilstein HD set up for Elephant Racing Von coilovers (level 2). They are adjustable and work well for pulling double duty- daily driver and about 8-12 track events a year.

PSS-10s with M030 sways, RS motor mounts and Walrods plus a very nice alignment/corner balance. Adjustable sways would give you an option to more tune the handling but honestly 1 or 2 track days a year...I would not bother.

It's hard to trump Bilstein durability and quality. Sure, there may be some other choices, but they don't seem to hold up as long. With what I spent for CB and alignment when I did my suspension last fall, I don't want to think about it again for a long, long time.
