Where to get smog tested in LA?
Hi,
Two years passed by so quick, and its my first time bringing in this car to a smog test....
Where do you Los Angeles guys go to for smog test? ( did a little forum search and couldn't find what you guys suggested before...)
I'm basically at USC/ downtown area, but I'm definitely willing to drive some distance to get to a safer better place.
I just don't want to go to a place where I'd have to risk my life to go there, and end up with someone who has no idea how a Porsche work.
Another thing is, I have a 1995, so its OBD I. Last time I brought my car to the mechanic to get some A/C issue sorted out, they couldn't find the OBD plug somewhere under the center of the dash/ like near the coin/ash tray or whatever that thing is. Is that going to be a problem?
Last thing, before I roll in to the place to get the smog test down, I just need to get every hot by driving for like 30 mins before going in right?
thanks guys!

I've been very happy with the service I have received at C and G in Eagle Rock (not too far from downtown/USC). The owner is familiar with Porsches and treats his customers and their cars very well.

I've always just gone to the Auto Chek in Manhattan Beach. Never any issues, fast and relatively cheap (make sure to go to the website and get the coupon). They have locations across LA.

I passed!! I went to Eagle Rock. Had to wait a while as there were a few cars in line ahead of me. Thankfully today isn't too hot so it was nice to just chill around and wait. The three cars in front of me didn't past but i did! And as a bonus, I saw a nice Polar silver 993 drove by while I was waiting. I've been seeing quite a few Polar silver these two days. Saw one while I was in San Diego, and also saw a white one from far away while I was driving down to SD. I wonder if they are rennlisters too
Thanks again for the recommendation. I get to drive her two more years now!
