My driver's side seatbelt retraction is a bit tired and won't quite retract fully without a little bit of "encouragement". Just wondering if there is an easy fix? Or if somebody has perhaps done a DIY replacement and can comment on the complexity?

Not sure how to fix, and definitely not something you want to experiment with...
An alternative "fix", someone's selling a set for $200:

I'm dealing with rebuilding the belts on a '73 914 I'm restoring and will probably have a place called seatbeltplanet redo them. They do work on Porsche belts- could check them out...

Is it the retraction mechanism that is dragging - or the seat belt itself dragging on the 'hoop' attached above your shoulder?
I've had this issue on one car: the cure was to lift the belt and clean the built up crap from the guides rub strip.
