If that we’re my 993 I'd schedule face time with the Rep. Face to Face. Work with Porsche to champion all their accumulated wisdom on this windshield replacement. Criticle path method winsdshield replacement ! Call it Customer Service good will.
My 993 hasn’t squeaked since the last replacement in 2001 at the factories Werk 1 facility.

The 993s creaking windshield syndrome can be eliminated as its been in my coupe and others. I’d turn to your area Porsche Cars North America district zone rep and no one else. Porsche AG did ultimately get to bottom of the “glazing” problem with the 993 production. My 993s a rolling example of the factories fix, yeah it took 4 windshields on their $nickel.

Porsche AGs Werk 1 facility is not a car dealership, it is/was a limited service facility within the factory production grounds. In 2001 Werk 1 was limited to reconstruction of the 356 , early 911s and present day 959 service. – never saw so many 959s in one place, most all with Middle East tags. The windshield replacement was a No Cost arrangement.
Porsche AGs success with my and others 993 windshield glazing remedy was more than 12 years ago, total recall specifics I don’t have, but Porsche does.

But somehow I highly doubt Porsche is going to cover the cost of a squeaky windshield replacement on any 15 year old 993 at this point.

I'd get to work with a Porsche area Rep, in concert with a Porsche retailer/dealership, as an initial step so as to insure the factories 993 windshield remedy is executed in detail. It's your $ nickel.
Just a thought for those industrious types following this thread, Porsche AG presently runs a refurbishing facility outside of the factory (not like the old days) , it’s about 30 minutes north of Zuffenhausen – I was there a year ago just to have a look around. Anyway contact that facility for the 993 windshield install recipe. There are multiple alignment spacers, if I recall, that align the glass and body cavity – me thinks. This Porsche AG owned facility is listed on the worldwide Porsche website, you’ll have to fish around… Hey knowledge is king on that windshield squeak remedy …

Porsche AG Germany and its USA distributor have long exhausted any financial responsibility with the 993 production - but few people here would need to be reminded of this.

I dunno how exorbitant the cost would be vs. an independent, but I bet you could go back if it squeaked and have them fix it 'til it's right.....

If ya had the precise receipe from Porsche AG (easy enough for someone who does the leg work) the execution could be by others; anyone really. Go figure.
Good luck with your sqweaky windshield.

What is it.. "Goofballdeluxe...." Having a bad day? That's OK I've been there. You're following a thread where Rennlist members are exchanging ideas about a real problem and solutions.
Your'e exchange here does not advance the issue. Best of luck to ya.

But, yes, by all means, if someone wants to spend considerable time and effort contacting their local Porsche district zone rep to have them say "No, Porsche will not take any responsibility to fix their 15 year old squeaky windshield" or "Yes, Porsche will fix the windshield at your cost, just take it to your local Porsche dealer", that's their call. No Porsche senior management rep is going to take any special interest in helping anyone with a simple old windshield replacement on a 15 year old 993 at this stage of the game, sorry. This isn't a moon landing, after all.
A smarter call would be an independent specialist who knows 993 windshield replacement. Like most everyone does. But that would be easy, simple and effective for almost everyone.
Or better yet, call Germany. Maybe they might take a special interest in helping you? Maybe have the car shipped to Zuffenhausen for the windshield replacement? Maybe even next day shipping?
Jesus and Moses are laughing too
