Default Update:

The Engine is Sold, its on condition of the Leak-down and Compression test results which it will be getting in the next few days.

The Tub has a serious prospective buyer but they haven't shown up yet, if someone else is interested in the Tub let me know.

The Tranny so far is still available, I haven't had the time to follow up on the few people that have asked me to put them on the list for it though...

This has become more fun for me then I ever thought it would be to part out a perfectly great package. The reason, the parts are going towards other 993 projects that I would love to do as well one day. The Engine is going to another 993 that is being prepped to be a very nice example of a 993 RS. The Tub if it goes to the person I think it will is going to be used to create a 993 GT2 that is more focused to street driving then the track.

The Tranny not spoken for yet but if it doesn't go (wait for this ... Wifey's idea) I will probably keep it and find some very nice example of a 993 Tiptronic and convert it to a wonderful 6 speed 3 pedal car for her.

The work was performed by previous owner at http://www.fairfieldcountymotorsport.com/
I was told the gears were updated with euro version 3rd to 6th shorter gears. I have attached a copy of the invoice that was part of the paperwork when I got the car back in 2006. I have driven plenty of 993's and the gears in this car are definitely shorter then stock.

Do you have any plans for the OZ wheels? Or are you selling them as well?

Good eye, their nice wheels. They are on almost new tires as well but shipping wheels and tires especially far distances (I'm in Ottawa, Canada) is expensive so I don't think it would really be worth it. I had a set of wheels and tires shipped to me from West Virginia and it was around $300 for shipping via FedEx. I am not sure if I need to include wheels and tires with the Tub though so if I don't I may part either the OZ wheels or the Fikse's.

I hear ya... The only reason I considered parting it out is because I was made a great offer of $32,000 for the Tub. Well that offer has now gone down to $25,000 because they didn't realize the car is more of a DE car then a Street car which means they will need to put back some parts to make it pass their local state inspection. I have all the parts that were on the car when it was titled in NJ so its just a matter of some labor. Anyway I am rethinking the parting out of this beauty of a car...

Hi Carm, the car is really nice as-is!

When I first read of the offer on the "tub", something didn't sound quite right to me. Would be great $ for you, but realistically, it's hard to part out a project car and get good dollars for the components.

I am sure it will work out. Again, it's a really nice car!

Hi Matt, thanks for your note. I actually have lots of interest in the Engine and Tranny so the total dollars would be more parting the car out if the Tub sold at a reasonable price. But in the end the final price I was offered for the Tub ended up lower and then the effort to part out the car besides having to see the car being parted out became too much of a pain for me. Oh ya I followed your lead and took off the FabSpeed Super Traps and put on the B&B Mufflers I had. The car doesn't sound as awesome anymore but its so much more of a pleasure to drive due to the more reasonable exhaust sound level.
