Default Trouble with Insert nuts

INstalling my new 3 pt sway bar last night I had some trouble with an insert nut. Either I did not squish it enough or the hole was too large. Either way, its now spinning and I cant get the bolt out. I tried prying against it to get the bolt to bite. No luck. Planning on cutting the head off the bolt so I can get the bracket off. Then what? I cant get the insert nut out since it is partially squished. Pop it through? Its in the frame rail running front to rear along the passenger side of the gas tank. Is there anyway to retrieve it once pushed through or is it destined to rattle around forever?

JHG,

It happens all the time, don't sweat it. Nutcert is aluminum and soft. Get a small drift punch and peen over the edges and then bang it through the hole. Start again and put more compression on the tool. You can rough up the edges of the hole a bit with a small chisel to give the nutcert more bite.

I wouldn't worry about the rmains rattling around, especially up there. It'll wedge someplace and find a home and you'll never hear it.
