Amazing cars guys.. I need to have a blue interior 993 in my future..

In the one i posted originally, really small point but the black stripe of dash is continued on door panel. Did porsche really allow this level of specification on built to order 993's? Its a neat touch and cool if the factory really let people design the car like that.

Porsche allowed you to do anything you want (and still very much does) to personalize the car.

What you are seeing on your particular picture is a black door panel (look at the area around the speaker to understand that clearly). On top of it is a blue top sail panel, blue insert and blue non-HiFi pocket. So it's not just a black strip.

Car and Drivel did an article in late 80s on a 911 Carrera of that time. The sidebar was about ordering _all_ available leather options. They counted more that $30K worth of leather options available and calculated that about 2 cows would be needed to provide all the leather.

I personally am not a big fan of two-color interiors. I've owed Marble interior 993 before and slowly converted it to black. So I could observe assorted two-tone combos in my own car for a period of about two years. As I've said - not a big fan.

As SuperUser said in post 13, the C2S came with a different leather(?) for the dash strip that continued onto the door panel as you see in the picture you posted.

Ha I guess having never bought a brand new car i wouldn't even know what an options list would look like. Maybe i'll change but i just cant imagine buying a new car at this point. Even if the 991 is growing on me.. Trouble is it grew too much already..

My Polar Silver/midnight Blue is also great. However, this 91Ks driver's seat is beginning to show cracks from use and not the sun (garaged and not a daily driver). I do not look forward to the day that I must try to match the color with a re-skinning.

There was a thread recently that i cant seem to find that had someone restore what to me looked almost beyond repair cream leather seats in a 911. Maybe a full re-skin can be avoided at least for a while?

Color match in blue will not be hard. The reasoning is... if you look carefully you'll see at least 4 different blue color shades in that blue interior. Leather, vinyl, plastic and felt pockets are all different shades of blue. So leather front seats being a bit off will not introduce anything visually odd to that interior, especially of your rear seats are vinyl.

I love my blue interior. Of course the only thing left blue in my car is the dash, center console, and a few minor trim pieces since the interior is stripped. But the blue seats look nice in my office too

I have a blue interior and it isnt my favorite. I just couldnt find a white C4S this nice with black or grey or red....hell anything but blue. Learning to live with it. I put on a black steering wheel and did the black strip on the door panel like the C2S mentioned earlier. I have a black leather complete dash that will make its way on there if I get enthusuastic about doing it. Anyway, its ok and most people like it.

Very nice, 97turbo. Interesting that it appears you have a leather upper dash and vinyl lower dash, yes?
