Posted last month on -- where else?! -- the "FAT ASSES" thread:
And now, from the "does this stock spoiler make by butt like big?" department:
I like some of the early insane cars from Rauh Welt. The kits seem a little too "kit" like.
If I had a body that wide, I'd want RSR suspension geometry, not dished wheels. I have to imagine one of these RWB cars could handle marvelously with the right suspension ... hmmm ...

There is no sense of balance in the knock-off.. Its the subtle things that please most of our eyes... After all we all do love the same 993 line, which has some uniqueness, so we already all share that..
Im sure that Nakai San spent many hours developing harmony.
In this case, I think that the rear wing is actually too small, and so the car seems way to bottom heavy.
Saw one in Boston over the summer. Its cool and all, and is driving Art, but I don't see why anyone would do that too a car. Regardless of bank roll, seems just a waste.
Now, Hookers and Blow.......

One if the biggest issues I have with all those body kits is that they are at the expense of performance
I have yet to see one that justifiably carries the over the top flares, wings etc. in terms of outright grunt.....I guess it would have to make 750+ hp at the rear wheels minimum to match the outlandish exaggerated look
Medallion Man never understood that Porsche is all about understatement anyway and when it did Moby Dick and other whales the performance was always more outlandish than the look

the use of "soul" in this thread is so embarrassingly ridiculous I actually laughed out loud.
yeah, RWBs huge grafted on flairs have soul...but the knockoffs just aren't quite soulful enough.
give me a break.

I think the RWB kit looks cool but I wouldn't put one on my car because there is too much performance compromised for the looks.
But you have to admit that there is something to that story behind RWB (a Japanese guy crafting a bodywork no one has seen before). I think's unique and isn't unique what people are after?
Now the VAD knock off kit... that looks just horrible. Looks like they tried to improve on the RWB kit by making everything a bit bigger...but they went overboard and it looks like **** IMHO.
Oh, and welcome "new" member!!!

I've got a Japanese book with (what seems like) a hundred or so RWB cars in it. And the funny thing is, no two are quite the same.
I agree that looks have taken priority over the performance aspect and all, but there is definitely a hot rod aesthetic which he is applying to each car to give them character and you gotta give the guy some respect for that, and I don't think "soul" is too strong a word.
And they all "work" aesthetically, which I don't think is something you can say for that VAD car.
