Posted recently about dreaded valve guide problem. Bit the bullet and had the engine pulled.
On tear down exhaust valve guides confirmed as the culprit.
Leak down was excellent. Everything else looks good too.
Having the heads flowed. New RS clutch install and replace all the gaskets and hopefully all good for another 15 years.
Am I happy about Porsche's crappy valve guides? Hell No!! But things could be worse I could have bought another car that would have depreciated 5 times more than I will have to spend on the repair.
regards to all

engines just wear guides as the engine ages
this in my own experience happends to lots of engines, The grass is greener on the P side of the fence
Very cool you have removed it and are getting it done
She will be all the more enjoyable afterwards.

Yippe!! Thanks jim.
And to also note that mine showed no signs of smoke untill I put on my de cat pipes,so I think the cat holds a lot of the smoke from coming out the rear pipe but it's still there just not as apparent as the cat seems to mask it quite a bit I think.
