Houston A/C Service

Thank e9stibi. I probably will try the DIY route first. These cars are generally easy to work on if you have the right tools. A/C admittedly is my least favorite area. The hardest part about getting the A/C system serviced seems to be convincing shops not to overfill the freon.

Thanks guys on the PCA info. Want to do the DE for definite before the end of the year. Unfortunately schedule is not allowing that at present. As for Cars & Coffee sounds good, will try to visit the Friendswood one in the coming months and hope to see a few of you there.
Great to know that there is a 993 community around here
Sorry this is off topic a bit from the original post and good luck with the AC repair. I wish I was able to do these things myself

You might try Swiss Garage on Alabama. They just worked on my AC which had lost Freon. They put in dyed Freon to look for what is probably a very small leak. It isn't fixed yet but I haven't been charged much--less than $100. They have done the routine work on my prior cars--several BMW's and MBs.
Also, would be happy to get together with other 993 owners.

Thanks for the offer Wunderbar.
NY32, I have used Swiss before on other cars and they seem reasonable. I may get them to evacuate the system for me so that I have a starting point. Looks like at this point in time I'm going to at least have to spring for a compressor.
