Real RS for sale in CT on PCA classifieds

Interesting. It looks very similar to an RS that arrived in Vancouver a few months ago from Japan. Wondering if the owner here flipped it or there are two the same colour that were shipped. Anyone know if the Vancouver RS was just sold??
BTW- a car over 15 years old can come into Canada without having to be federalized. Once in the country can it be shipped south?

Wow...what a markup on price!
I have confirmed "inside knowledge" that this car sold at auction for $108,000 U.S....it came up in conversation this evening here in Dubai. Same VIN number too...LOL.

Something must be wrong with it.
At $108,000.00 through an auction? The car must have been damaged badly or something if this is true. Why would it have been sold at auction when the air cooled RS market is so very hot unless the car has a sorted story to tell?

Just saw this. The silver car reminds me of one formerly owned by RLer RS 197. One of several threads discussing Joe's car: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...53-993-rs.html. The fact that it is federalized adds fuel to the fire.
The yellow RHD car on page one is owned by RLer Barty964rst.
EDIT: the Polar Silver car JP posted does appear to be a different Polar Silver RS than RS 197's. Joe's (RS 197) car had a roll cage. This one doesn't. Both are optioned with airbags and power windows as well.
Here's a 'Jäger shot' :

The car had or has a dent at the rear but no history of accidents. I didn't ask or query the auction part to be honest...friend had an intermediary in Japan bidding on it.

From: In front of you and to the left ...
If it sold in Japan for $108K it still doesn't seem too far out of line if you add the cost of shipping it either into North America .. port/customs duty, then registration/federalization costs .. you're probably at $200K, don't you think?

And now the car from Japan, the original topic of this thread, is at Sloan's: http://sloancars.com/3147/1995-993-c...k-30900-miles/
