Default Brake reservoir cap leak?

Surprised to find a little pool of fluid today on top of the reservoir (held by the raised lip). I'd have to say its been about 1.5k since I last looked at the brake reservoir. Brakes still feel normal. Is this as simple as replacing the cap?

Christian, isn't there a gasket in the cap? If so I would look at that first.

Have you had your brakes serviced recently? If so you may be seeing some overflow from compressing the caliper pistons.
Seems to me that the cap needs to leak to vent the container as the fluid level falls due to pad wear. My 1996 has what looks like a reservoir drain tube nipple sealed off with a rubber cap. This leaves the screw on filling cap as the only vent.
