We bought this car from PO (original owner), but have found a different car to my liking and have decided to pass this along to another 993 enthusiast. This is a 1996 993 Forest Green/Cashmere 6sp sunroof coupe. The history of the vehicle originated as a special order color sample car as indicated by paint number L999. The actual color is 22E. The PO took very good care of the car. There seems to be no indications of any accidents or paintwork as verified by a paint gauge.

Mechanically, the car starts, drives, and brakes like a well maintained 993 should. It has option codes 220 and 224, which are the very desirable locking differential (40%) and automatic limited slip differential. The steering is very tight and responsive. The car was just detailed along with new front brakes, four new Michelin tires, oil/filter, valve cover gaskets, and rear deck shocks replaced. The rear brakes have about 50% left. It does not leak any oil at all.

The exterior is in very good condition. As mentioned, this is a no accident car with all of its original panels and paint. We went over every panel with a paint gauge to verify that no bodywork was done. As you can see from the pictures, the body is very straight with the only imperfection being a few rock chips.

Like the exterior, the interior is also in very good to excellent condition with no tears in either seats as visible from the pictures. This car has the much desired 8 way power heated seats. There are no cracks on the dash and the leather on the steering is not dried or faded. It still has its original stereo. All of the electricals work perfectly. A/C blows cold air. The sunroof motor and the rear deck lid motor are very quiet. The only thing I would consider replacing are the mats as they are a bit faded, but again, this is strictly optional.

This is a turnkey car. The next owner shouldn’t have anything to do but enjoy the car.

Sample color Forest Green (22E)
Manual 6 speed
Limited Slip Differential 40%
60K service done
No accident car
All original paint (verified with paint gauge)
76k miles

It sounds like my attempt to be frank about the car is bringing back some old memories. I will revise the wording for technicality purposes. I will also ask the moderator to correct the title since I have no control over the title.

I'll try again to explain myself. I bought the car from the PO and had the car immediately detailed and serviced. Because I have not added one single mile to the car other than going to various places to get it serviced to make it better, I thought it was better described as an original owner car. I guess I was wrong. While it was getting the work done, I spotted a 914 that I had to have. Since this was going to be my second 993 anyway, I decided to pull the trigger on the 914 and let this one go. My other 993 is a polar silver '95 coupe. Here is a picture of my '95 coupe. The 914 is on its way here, but I will post a pic of that as soon as it gets here.

My apologies if I have misled anyone into thinking I am the original owner.

For clarification purposes, I will try to answer the many questions I have received about the number of owners for the car. Carfax indicates there are 2 owners, one registered in 1996 and the other in 2005.
As indicated before, this car was purchased from the original owner. I have the maintenance book from Porsche with her name in it signed 10/26/96, which is the first date on records according to Carfax. Her name is also on the many service records. In 2005, the husband added his name onto title and became the second owner. I would rather not post pictures of these private documents with their names on them, but if you are truly interested, I will share them with you in a different manner.

Boy, I love dark green. I think I'd be willing to sell my Turbo to have this car. GLWS, unless you're willing to trade.
