Default GOOD mechanic in West Los Angeles

Guys, I need someone to work on my new to me 993 to get a few things sorted out. I know Swiss Motors but would prefer someone else (west of the 405). Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

One more option would be Callas Rennsport in Torrance. Tell them I sent you.

Great looking shop. Too far for me though.-Camarillo. I've heard a lot about Callas but still a bit of a drive. Anyone with one around W.L.A. ?

My friend Robert Wessels owns Dutch Treat in Lawdale. Great guy and has been around p cars
his entire life. He has done work on my cars for more than 10 years. On my 993 he replaced shocks, oil, clutch + lwf, valve cover seals, and other small things. NEVER any issues.

If you don't mind traveling to just outside Beverly Hills, one of the best, and most fairly priced, shops is "200 N. Motorworks" on Pico and LaCienega. They specialize in air-cooled Porsches only.

The thing on the left you can do yourself in about 5 minutes and the part is not expensive.

What's the "thing on the left" called ? Part number anyone ? It looked easy enough but I wasn't sure I wanted to get into it especially since the car needs belts anyway. Thanks for the 200 N motorworks tips. I had heard of them as well but thought there might be something closer. I think they are where I will end up- a lot closer than Camarillo.

Tell Mark over at "200 N. Motorworks" that Philip in the silver 993 C4S sent you. He's a terrific guy on top of being a great mechanic, and waaay better than a ride all the way to Camarillo

Yup, I did mine last year, and I am one of the least mechanic minded people here.

Took me about 15 minutes.

It's the cooling fan air duct, there are 2 different versions:

964 106 403 02: early 993 (95)
993 106 403 00: later 993 (96-98)
