Default C4S front/rear diff. fluid change

Saw this over at pcar:

Looks like 75w-90. Delvac or is Mobil 1 ok? One quart each end? (I'll be buying some for my MT change so want to know how much extra to purchase.)

Thanks!!! Brian

Brian, there is no separate rear diff as the transmission is actually a transaxle and encompasses the diff. You'll need about 4 quarts for the tranny and I think about 600ml for the front diff.

Buy 2 gallons of the delvac from lufteknic

There is no rear diff. ONLY the front. The rear is a transaxel. You should change the tranny fluid to do a complete job.I think you are going to need 5 quarts, not two.

Thanks guys. Ordered 2 gallons from Lufteknik today. Any idea what size washers the 10mm bolts will need on the replacement? Is it 10mm? Brass?

Thanks, Brian

Brian, I'd recommend you take a sample, and send to a place like Blackstone for a UOA.

I plan to do about every 30,000 miles. This was one of the first things I did after purchasing mine. I plan to do it again this Fall before the car goes into winter hibernation.

It will be interesting to see how/if the UOA changes from 2009:

FYI: service manual states every 60K miles for MT cars. I just hit 50K. This includes rear tranny/diff plus front diff for C4 cars. FYI: some say you should also do the power steering, but I've been told to not touch the system unless it's leaking. Don't know the answer on that one.

thanks for the info.
The dealer changed the steering pentosin once, but I don't recall the transmission.
I just reached the 112k km(is about 60k mls),so this winter I'll go for the diff plus front
cheers
