Heat exchangers (white)?
Hi all rennlisters out there, i jumped into a sai cleanup tonight and took off the heat exchangers to find that 2 ports had been colored a little white inside them.
I have been fighting a misfire code po300-po304-po306 for awhile and have been replacing about everything. My question is that if too much fuel gets in the cylinder you get white buildup right? So maybe this has to be a fuel or sensor issue and not an engine issue? Can that be from a possible bad injector or maf? I have just gotten another maf and sent out the injectors to be cleaned and rebuilt. I pray that one of these fixes the issue.

I think the white ports would signify lean condition in those cylinders. I would look at individual cylinder issues like clogged injectors before something like MAF. The misfire is likely a lean miss. What cylinders are like that?

Hi
Did you have much trouble getting the exchangers off? Your car must be in great condition if not. Usually the nuts are very badly rusted. I broke 3 studs getting mine off, and I was careful.
Best of luck sorting the problem. At least you know it is more likely an injector issue now.

The two cylinders that are white are 4 and 6. Both are giving me the misfire codes. The heat exchanger nuts i let soak for a couple of hours after spraying wd40 on them. They all came right off with no issues.
