Default BBS LM Question

I have a set of BBS LM wheels and I would like to have the lip polished. Is it a Dyi to take the wheel apart, send the rims out to be polished and put them back together again or am I asking for trouble doing it myself?

Removing the centers is very easy to do yourself.... Just undo the bolts taking care not to mar or strip any of the outer heads. 8mm 12 point on the outers and 10mm on the inners, if I remember correctly.

The bolts will have blue thread lock on them, which will need to be removed (soak in simple green & use a wire brush).

Re-assembly is a little more tedious - once you have the centers back in and the bolts 'snugged' with fresh blue loc-tite, you need to torque each bolt to 18-20lbft - moving to the opposite bolt each time until all are torqued.

I'd also recommend a good coat of wheel wax or rejex while they're appart to make keeping them clean a little easier in the future.
