looks like you gentlemen had a great drive up. I came from the opposite side of the 5, and ran into traffic, not as fun.
Here are a couple of my favorites of the morning.

Cars & Coffee Irvine takes place every Saturday morning at 7AM although if you want to display your car get there by 6:30 for a good spot. The early 911 guys arrive by 6 AM so we can take the "front row" and line up all our cars, usually about 20 strong.
I'd estimate that there are about 500 cars on any given weekend, and with the popularity of web forums it seem like some marquee makes a Cars & Coffee run about every weekend. For example, there were about 20 new McLaren's all lined up yesterday. And you never know what may be there, but guaranteed it'll be worth it. Yesterday we saw a stunning 54-55 gulling; a show stopper of a car. I walked by it 3 or 4 times and at most I saw a few people peeking inside to get a glimpse of the interior or snap a photo. The whacky amphibious military vehicle parked next to it drew more attention. Also saw two amazing resto mod hot rods; a black Merc, and a 55 Chevy that were both very cool. I shoulda' taken pix.
It's a great event to connect with your car buddies and get your fill of some some amazing vehicles; oh yeah...it doesn't cost you a dime! My group generally leaves by 8:30 for a nearby breakfast joint and I'm home in San Diego by 11.

Glad the trip was worthwhile.
Ed, Sapphire looked sweet with the newly painted wheels.
Nick, don't exaggerate, there were only SEVEN McClarens there...
One day was a long enough experiment to let me know that yellow headlight film is a fail, not an epic fail, but a fail none-the-less.
Off to FD to order clear film.
