Don't Sell your '96 - '98 C4S...
Because they rock with the Turbo brakes, suspension and interior bits!
Haha...just had to with the recent "Don't Sell your '97 - '98 C2S thread.

Yeah. Yeah. What he said. Yeah...
Ha I was thinking this same thing and its what made me buy the C4S...big reds, factory twists (albeit solid), and about $5k cheaper than a similar C2S at the time I bought mine (ok, the real reason! ha)...and awd convertible to rwd.

Interesting point Keith. My C2S has hollow's which I was surprised to discover but didn't give much thought until your post.
So did hollow's only come on C2S and Turbo's and C4S got solids from the factory?
For whatever reason I just assumed hollow's only came on Turbo's but now I'm thinking they must have came on C2S cars also because I'm confident my hollows are original to the car.
FWIW I loved my previous 4S primarily because of the big reds. Maybe it's in my head but that car would sit down so nice under hard braking. Therefore when it was time to get back into a WB 993 I was seeking out a 4S when a 2S in my color combo became available. I was able to purchase the 2S for 4S money.
I suppose the whole C2S vs C4S pricing is based on supply (or the infamous split grill) but I loved my 4S.

Seriously, which is a better car -- a standard c2 (not that there's anything wrong with that) that put on a little weight and acts all huffy because it thinks it's a rare bird, or a turbo without the turbo (but with all the other turbo bits) and without the turbo price?

I've owned a C2S and now have a C4S and there isn't much difference, the main thing is they sold less C2S models, which dictates the price. If it was the other way around, the C4S would be worth more.

Lots of reasons are argued for why 2S prices are higher than 4S prices. I believe the most prominent reason is that an awful lot of guys have an aversion to AWD in a sports car. If the Turbo were RWD, I'll bet it would be even more desirable than it already is. I can undertand the mentality, even though I don't agree with it.

My '96 C4S has solid turbo twist wheels. I thought only the TT had the hollow twist wheels ?
What do you think a 170,000 miles C4S would yield a bang price ? The GT3 I need to use more often.

Regarding the hollow vs solid twists - C4S came with solid twists from the factory. Along with the "4S" caps. C2S came with the 17" Cup II wheels standard.
The hollow spoke wheels were an option so a lot of people bought those when ordering their cars instead of the 17" Cup IIs. That's why they're somewhat more common on C2S cars.

Thanks for the clarification ilko. Is there an option code associated with the hollow twist upgrade on my C2S that would be listed on the bonnet sticker?
